supports BeachBeat

BeachBeat is a survey to report on and improve the visual quality of beaches across England and Wales. It is a visual survey only, so does not involve collecting litter.

We are looking for groups of volunteers from aged 8 upwards to go out and survey beaches. All groups must be accompanied by an adult and have parental permission.

Before you can go out and carry out your survey your adult leader needs to register with us. You can then access and download all of the information to be able to carry out your survey accurately, effectively and above all safely.

The information we get back will be used to make a real difference. We will be able to identify specific issues at individual beaches and initiate action to tackle them.

We've already got some data from our own surveys which we carried out over the past three years - if you are interested in seeing the results then use the Beach Search link.

Alistair says,"Litter is an unacceptable threat to the environment and it makes a depressing sight too."
